Sunday, November8, 2009
Today the first day I meet the group, it is composed by nine people. This people are going to be my friends and I know they will, I like meet new people. Today I receive my script and also my mentor gives me the character that I am going to be in the play. The name of the play is “Herod and the Star” and in the play I am going to be Melchior one of the three kings. We are so exited about this play and we think it will be a success. My mentor says to all members of the groups that we are going to meet every Sunday in the church. Also I learned how to practice my voice and how to give personalization to my character.
Sunaday, Novemeber15, 2009
Today is the second day. I already know everybody in the group. Today we practice with the voices and face expressions and also we practice memorization. My mentor say to me that from today we are responsible to learn our script and to memorize how are we going to move from the stage and from what part of the stage we are supposed to go out. Another thing that I did today was shearing the ideas of how we are going to dress the day of the play. My mentor say that next Sunday we will start the rehearsal 30 minutes early because she want us to practice and warm up our voices. When I came home today I start to read my script I like my character, in the play I am an astrologer.

Today is the third day. I know my first line, my mentor change some part of the script she say that she put some new stuff that will be nice to add in the play. Also she tells to us that we are going to have more movements. Today I learn that an actor work well with some help of other actors. We did many stuff today first we stretch and make zigzags in the stage also we talk in numbers it was funny I never did such a thing, Mrs. Resureccion say that those exercises help you to express your voice.

Today the group have the first meeting in the church where we are going to make the play the church name is the St. Mary Star Of The Sea. Today Mrs. Resureccion announced that we are going to make two functions one in the sanctuary and one in the assumption hall. Today I meet my apprentice she is going to act we me in the play we have three scenes together we start and end the play together, also I meet the first character in the play the most important, king Herod. I know I will not sleep well because I want to learn the script as soon as possible.

What exiting day, today Mrs. Resureccion bring some stuff that we can use as clothes in the play she say that an actor need to be creative that is one thing that I will never forget by the way I say to her that I will bring my own custom, it is a custom that I design for a Greek play in Pablo Casals. She sya to me that is ok that I don’t need to wary about my custom. So I am a head of everything that is what t I think. She say that we will have another rehearsal next Thursday the 10th at the Martin Center, she say that we will meet the dancer Sahari she will be the star in the play.

After school I went home very tired, and I didn’t eat I just go to sleep at 3:20pm I wake up to go to the martin center to meet the dancer. I was so happy because I will meet someone who I going to work with me. My mentor say that I will appear in the scene of baby Jesus birth. My mentor say that I will appear kneeling in front of baby Jesus, after kneeling in front of baby Jesus the dancer will start to dance around us.

After stretching and walking around the stage and screaming for practice my voice and movements I went home tired but exited at the same time. In home I go up and down stair talking to my self and reading the script from my mind. Today in the rehearsal i learned how to improvise. Mrs. Resureccion say that and actor need to improvise in to things in a wrong movement or reading script or in a improvise play. She say that we are not going to improvise in any scene in the play she say that she trust on me and the group that we are all going to be responsible to learn our script.

Today I did almost the same as last Sunday voice practice and movements I almost know all m script I love the part when I say that king Herod is a bad man and that he want to kill baby Jesus and that also he will order to kill all Childs of Israel because he is not sure where is baby Jesus. This play is also helping me to connect more to the life in those times when baby Jesus was born. I can imagine how this play will be like I can imagine how people will congratulate us for our great work.

Not like last rehearsal today was a special day today we start the play from the beginning to the end with the music and the dances. I think we are doing great, every one almost know they part in the play. Today I learned that if you speak clear and lauder no meter how far people are in the theater they will hear you. That is something that I will never forget. I become more excited about being a professional actor. Mrs. Resureccion tell us that we will meet tomorrow Monday and also Thursday for more practice.
